About Arctic Tern Game Lab
The 3 mains objectives of our mobile Game Lab:
1) Reducing the digital divide
- We provide training to teach people who are far from digital to use digitally controlled machines.
- Like a mobile Fab Lab, we bring our machines on site, the idea being that if the public cannot go to a Fab Lab, then the Fab Lab comes to them.
- Our particularity is that people learn to use the machines by making a game. At the end of the workshop the people keep the game they made.
2) Participate in the ecological transition
- We chose to do a mobile game Lab in a cargo bike equipped with a modular trailer to reduce our ecological footprint.
- We design, document and share open source games on ecology.
- We are starting to design an introductory robotics workshop: making children program an autonomous boat to collect samples/waste in the water. The goal is to motivate children to become scientists in the field of ecology.
3) Promote games in companies and communities
- We create game to encourage cooperation in structures by using them as a team building tool.
